Welcome to EURAXESS in Cyprus

We provide information and assistance to mobile researchers – by means of this portal and with the support of our national EURAXESS Services Centre. This portal contains practical information concerning professional and daily life, as well as information on job and funding opportunities.

The Services Centre helps researchers and their family to plan and organise their move to a foreign country, providing assistance in all matters related to mobility. All services of the EURAXESS Network are free of charge.

Cyprus

Situated at the north-eastern end of the Mediterranean basin, Cyprus is the third largest island in the region, with an area of 9,251 square kilometres (3,572 square miles).

The history of Cyprus is one of the oldest recorded in the world and its historical significance is disproportionate to its small size. Considerable resources of copper and timber found in the island combined to make it a highly desirable territorial acquisition.

Cyprus became a member of the European Union on the 1st of May 2004.

Researchers in Diaspora

RPF's long-term aim is to examine possible ways of remote cooperation of Diaspora researchers with researchers in Cyprus, while exploring the possibilities of a potential return or a close collaboration with the research community of their home country.

At this point, RPF is in the process of creating a database with the contact details of Cypriot expatriate researchers. This database will be used for informing interested expatriate researchers about research and innovation activities in Cyprus, funding opportunities through European and national programs as well as opportunities for collaboration with organisations based in Cyprus.
